Carrie Moon: 40DDD Bi MILF… with a Graduate Degree
When one sees Carrie Moon either on the Web or, especially, in person, one can be forgiven for having… impure thoughts. With her 40DDD breasts, shapely body and long brown hair, Carrie is a natural choice for anyone’s fantasy list. But hold the phone: The star of numerous videos, magazine spreads, and www.CarrieMoon.com is smart, literate, and the holder of a post-graduate degree. Intrigued, YNOT.com decided to examine Carrie’s “credentials” in detail.Carrie: Well. I’m a 44-year-old Canadian gal. I’m the eldest daughter of Dutch immigrants. I grew up in small town Ontario and moved to Kingston for University and then Toronto for my post-grad education which is in naturopathic medicine.
I am an outgoing person and easily talk to strangers, even in lines at the bank where it seems like it’s a taboo to make eye contact, never mind chitchat. On the other side I like to veg a lot in front of my TV when I’m tired and not communicate at all with the outside world. This is because I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, so I do need a lot of downtime.
This is also the reason I am in the adult business for the most part. I started as a sex worker when my immune system broke down, and I had to find a better way to earn money in shorter hours so that I could function while finishing my education.
YNOT: How did you get started in the adult business?
Carrie: I entered the industry from being a sex-worker. I have been an escort in Canada for 20 years on-and-off. I started that as a means to support myself through graduate school and then after working 9 – 5 for some years, decided to go back to escorting. I like the hours, working from home, and the interesting people I meet; as well as the money, of course.
I decided to enter porn after watching some documentaries on people who were in porn. I saw that it wasn’t as seedy of a business as I had imagined it to be and it was becoming more socially acceptable, thanks to the likes of Jenna Jameson and others who proved that intelligent career-minded women could do well in porn and be respected as talented individuals.
It was difficult for me as the main porn industry is obviously in L.A. and I was unsuccessful at making connections ‘til I went to the Adult Entertainment Expo in Vegas in January 2007. I met a few people who were very friendly and introduced me to various other people in the industry. But it wasn’t until the following year at the same event that I made friends who invited me to stay with them and hook me up with an agent.
I wasn’t able to work for any companies until I had one U.S. photo ID, which I obtained while staying in Arizona during the fall of 2007. It’s weird how being of age isn’t good enough for 2257 laws and that one photo ID must be American. Anyway, the agent I got through my friends didn’t work out but while I was there Jim South opened up again with World Modeling in Van Nuys and I met with him. He and I hit it off and he’s a sweet-natured, straight-up kind of guy, so he became, and still is, my agent when I go back to L.A.
I now know my way around the city thanks to GPS and a rental car, and feel quite at home there, especially in Burbank where I attend Pornstar Karaoke at Sardo’s pub every Tuesday. The thing I especially like about that is while I may disappoint some of my friends and family by my lifestyle/career choices, when I’m in Porn Valley or some other porn community, I am not only not judged, but have fun with people who are in the same industry.
Carrie: Once I felt accepted in porn and was more open about what I do, I found others would admit they did as well, at least to me. Certainly not all porn stars work as escorts but it’s really a much greater issue legally in the states than Canada.
I really get on my soapbox about it sometimes. It irks me a great deal that if I want to fuck hundreds of guys in my place but not charge them for it, I’m a slut and it’s not illegal. But if I’m charging a fee suddenly I’m a whore and it’s a criminal activity!! Why is it not illegal to sell your household goods on your front lawn at a garage sale? If you can give something away why can’t you charge for it?
I know I’m not doing anything wrong and the older I get the less I feel the need to apologize for it or hide it. As for girls getting uppity as some do about not being an escort but being a porn star — get over it. You’re getting paid to have sex with a stranger with the exception being that you are on camera! It’s still technically prostitution and the companies earning the money from producing it are “living off the avails.” It’s such hypocrisy.
YNOT: How did you get started as an escort? What was the experience like?
Carrie: I answered an ad in Now magazine (a weekly paper in Toronto that lists live music events and has a section in the back for escort ads) for an escort agency and went in for an interview. I was working as a security guard in the evenings and had an evening shift that day. She asked me to call back after my shift that night and when I did she told me to get ready for my first appointment.
I had almost no time to think about it and had one dress in my closet, I think, and absolutely no lingerie. I was pretty much a tomboy up til then. I was so nervous, but managed to get ready. They driver picked me up and took me to the call, and she walked me through the rules over the phone. I called the agency when I arrived after getting the fee from the client, and he and I got down to business.
It was pretty much like a blind date except you got straight to the making out part with little small talk and when we finished I called the agency back up and was told the driver was outside. I got into the car exhilarated as I had just made more than two shifts of net pay in an hour. The driver said to me, “off to your next appointment” and so it was for two more appointments that night. I made more that first night than I did in a week of security work.
I was “hooked” and became a “hooker.” I was naive enough to think that escorts had to look like skinny models and I wouldn’t be hired. I had no idea what my assets were and I was 24-years-old and about 20 lbs lighter than I am now! A little while later, the agency owner asked me to go blonde as her best blonde girl was moving on. I had my hair highlighted and assumed as well that that was what guys wanted so I kept it blonde for 10 years. When I went back to my natural hair color I found a whole new crop of guys who love brunettes. Who knew??? This is so much easier as well; not having to dye my hair.
YNOT: What is the actual job of escorting like, both in terms of dealing with people and having sex? I’ve often thought it was akin to being a waiter, in that it is all about customer service and making the customer feel valued in exchange for money.
Carrie: I totally agree and I love that analogy!! I have worked a variety of customer service jobs over the years including waitressing. The difference in being an escort is that if I don’t like the client I never have to see him again, whereas when I work for someone else I have to put up with obnoxious customers and grin and bear it. Now in my case I have to grin and bear it for the time I’m with an annoying client, but as I said it’s up to me whether I choose to let him rebook with me.
You mention the customer feeling valued in exchange for money. A good friend of mine puts it this way: Seeing an escort is a luxury you buy yourself. Many women would pay for a massage or a facial/manicure as their luxurious expense for themselves. Guys prefer sex as their way to be spoiled.
Now in terms of dealing with people… the part I hate most about my job is answering rude questions on the phone. Some guys are really pigs while others are super grateful and gracious.
Of course the gracious guys are what make this job fun and pleasurable for me. I don’t do this because I’m a sex addict. I do it because I make great money for my time and I am good at customer service within my boundaries. Maintaining boundaries is what has allowed me to be in this business for so long.
For instance, much like Julia Roberts character in the movie Pretty Woman, I don’t kiss clients as it’s too personal. I also don’t give oral to clients without a condom for the same reason. I still enjoy sex very much when I’m in a relationship and kissing and having non-barrier sexual activities are that much more enjoyable with my partner.
The having sex with a client part: I try to treat each session fresh in that I don’t have a set “routine” unless it is with a “regular” and I know what he likes very specifically. I meet the client, have a wee bit of small talk and if he neglects to give me the fee right away I remind him to get business out of the way. I don’t start getting undressed until then as not only was that the way I was trained in the agency but I find it works for me to get the role play underway. I don’t mean actual role play but I don’t “open up the sex store” until I’m paid.
It’s also a trust thing. I’ve had guys try to screw me by showing up with less money and trying to get away with, “well I only brought such and such because of ‘insert excuse here.’” While it doesn’t happen, often it makes me quite angry when it does. Now with a regular we’ve developed a huge level of trust over the weeks/months or in some cases years I’ve known them so it’s no big deal when they pay at the end in that case.
So back to how the sex is like: If it doesn’t progress naturally – i.e. the client goes to work on me like he would any girlfriend he has come to ravish regularly — I start things up by removing my clothes, getting on the bed and chatting a bit more with him. If he still doesn’t get amorous (usually he’s unsure of what’s okay and what’s not okay especially if it’s his first time with an escort, period; never mind with me) I either take his hand and put it on my boobs or lean over him and put them both in his face directly to suckle on. That usually gets them fired up.
If however they are foot guys they will let me know and ask to suck on my feet or something like that. I’m certainly not a mind reader and more than half of the escort experience comes from the client’s expectations and how he expresses them. So the best ones are ones with almost no expectations and they’re greatly impressed in those cases, or the ones with clear ideas who express them and then I can agree to work with them or refer them elsewhere.
YNOT: How do you and your clients get past the awkwardness?
Carrie: The general awkwardness I get out of the way be being me; acting as normal as possible so that it “is what it is.” Much like you in your analogy of going to a restaurant, I “seat” the client and give him the “menu;” i.e. peel off my clothes. As well most of my clients book from a website where the actual “menu” is presented, because of course different girls have different acceptable sexual acts that they are comfortable with. When we are done I “remove the empty plates from the table” (I get up and put my clothes on) and he follows suit, and we walk to the door to say goodbye with a hug/kiss on the cheek.
YNOT: How do you keep yourself healthy and safe?
Carrie: The only unprotected sex act I engage in is commonly called “daty” in the escort industry. It stands for “dining at the y” which means going down on a girl. I have no idea who coined the phrase but I think it’s adorable. It’s considered a very low risk activity in comparison to blowjobs without a condom and of course the very risky intercourse without a condom.
While it is obviously a very intimate activity, I find it a necessity for most clients to have when kissing is “not on the menu.” I find it maybe surprising to most people to learn that it’s way less intimate for me than kissing but it certainly is. Of course if it’s done well I can enjoy an orgasm as part of the session, which is always nice! Many men however do it badly and if they’re too rough I will encourage them to another activity without trying to bruise their egos. Some are foolish enough to show up with a day or two growth, which can hurt, as well. I shave all my necessary parts every single day and I’m less coarse in the hair department than the typical male.
YNOT: How different is the experience of having sex with a customer to having sex in front of the camera with a bunch of people watching?
Carrie: I’m quite familiar now with having sex with a customer and never get nervous anymore. When it comes to camera sex, though, I get nervous every time. It’s also very uncomfortable having sex on camera for two reasons. The positions are extremely awkward, as they’ve developed the “pretzel” poses where you have to bend sideways to show your ass and face/boobs at the same time in either doggie or cowgirl, and you have to lean way back in cowgirl reverse. The other reason is the lights are so hot that by the time the shoot is over, you are sweating profusely.
YNOT: Is performing on camera ever arousing to you? Or is it all just acting?
Carrie: That always depends on the guy. The thing about porn is that more often I get very attractive guys to work with and some are great in bed while others are “just doing their job.” So yes, I can be aroused. I’m used to being watched so that part doesn’t bother me and I actually have mirrors nearby the bed so that when I’m getting fucked at home with a client or lover I can watch as well. The first time I saw myself on camera I hated it, but now I honestly love it.
YNOT: What’s the best sex you’ve had on camera? The worst? The funniest? The best?
Carrie: Honestly it was with another Canadian, James, who I did the only two movies I did in Canada so far; Naughty Canadians I and Dazed and Cumfuzed. He’s so much my type in looks, attitude and sexual style that we keep going when the camera is paused. I have had that chemistry with a few other guys as well.
The last movie I did in LA recently I got so horny I blew the camera man, and the director fucked me, as well as the producer for a bit each — and not all at the same time. I have yet to do a gang bang.
Worst? My first scene was probably my worst. It was for a website here in Canada. We did two scenes. The first one was quite awkward as it was a three girl scene and we were in outrageous costumes including wigs. It was obvious that we were meant to be “props” for the main “talent” and I really didn’t feel sexy in what felt much like a clown costume.
The other two girls were the type who go straight into “porn acting” as soon as the camera starts rolling with a lot of over-the-top moaning and dirty talk. I’m not like this. I like to warm up naturally and not rush things. People who’ve seen my work comment that I actually seem to be enjoying myself and not faking it. This is more fun for me and exactly the type of porn I myself like to watch. As a result I don’t think the girl I was with was initially too impressed with me!
The second shoot with her involved a threesome with a guy. This time I got to put on a sexy outfit and do my own hair instead of wearing a silly wig. I felt sexy this time instead of feeling like a clown and we had a great time and pulled off what I felt was a much better scene. I think she was happier as well with the outcome.
Prior to this I had done some of my own shooting in preparation for my website launch, so I knew what kind of porn I liked to make on my own. I also learned a valuable lesson with this shoot. Instead of being paid for the shoot I opted to receive the content from the shoot. After months of waiting I was only provided with the edited version which amounted to 10 minutes from each shoot with yet more fake moaning added over the top of it!
YNOT: You are making quite a career as a MILF. Tell us what you are up to now?
Carrie: Well I’ve only just gotten started really! I’m back home in Toronto after almost three months in LA and I’m concentrating on escorting for a while, which is what I’m most familiar with. I’m doing the occasional shoot here and there. Canada is not as well-connected for people in the industry, so I’m finding connections through word of mouth and believe it or not through some friendships with other girls in the industry on myspace.com.
I did 11 scenes recently for jerkygirls.com and they found me through my clips4sale.com/11356 site, which is where their site is. I then put them in touch with other Toronto talent that I’ve met in the past few weeks so we’re starting to network. I met Leanne Flux recently and she’s connecting me as well with some local work, so I actually may postpone heading back to L.A. ‘til the fall and enjoy the summer in Toronto escorting and doing some shoots here!
YNOT: Overall, how has your career been, in terms of how you have enjoyed it and the living you’ve made?
Carrie: Overall I’ve enjoyed it a lot. It has allowed me to travel, to make my own schedule, to meet interesting people and to afford me other things I wouldn’t likely have otherwise been able to afford.
YNOT: If you had it to do over again, would you go into adult again?
Carrie: I can’t imagine doing my life a different way. I don’t believe in looking back anymore… although I used to. I’m way more spiritual now and believe that our lives’ purpose is to grow as much as possible; and no matter what you do for a living, to do it with pride and enjoyment.
