Canadians Love Their Sex Toys
ONTARIO, Canada – Those naughty Canadians. They’ve been sending all their cold weather south this winter and keeping the heat for themselves.
That’s the clear impression generated by adult novelty retailer PinkCherry, which recently compiled a list of the hottest Canadian cities based on the sex-toy buying habits of residents. By analyzing sales figures for the period Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2013, the company determined residents of three cities may be generating enough personal heat to warm their entire provinces: Victoria, British Columbia; Grand Prairie, Alberta; and Fredericton, New Brunswick.
In fact, Alberta seems to be a particularly active province, as four of its cities appeared within the top 10 sex-toy-purchasing locations in the country.
According to PinkCherry’s sales stats, the top 25 toy-buying locations in Canada, per capita, are:

“We divided the amount of orders in each region by the number of people who live there — over 18 and according to the census — to tell us the average amount of orders per head,” PinkCherry representative Shannon wrote on the company’s blog.
Shannon also noted that the most popular items for 2013, based on the same data, included bullet and rabbit vibes and lubes.
“Another strong product was the Magic Wand,” she added. “Originally marketed as a body massager in the 1970s, it continues to have widespread popularity as a sex toy.”
