Canadian Girls Know How to Party
ONTARIO, Canada – If Steve Marczak has his way, Canada soon will be home to a brand-new reality series that displays young adults losing their inhibitions in public during wild parties.
Marczak, founder of Canadian Party Girls, calls his new concept “Girls Gone Wild-style video mixed with a reality show.” The company just launched its first nationwide tour, which will see three lovely co-hosts—Kayla Ann (aka Lalaa Love), Veronika London and Ashley Sky — mixing it up with average folks in nightclubs across the Great White North. Marczak’s assistant, Bex, even gets into the act.
According to Marczk, each episode builds upon the previous one, allowing viewers to follow the characters from one wild, dramatic adventure to the next.
The tour started at Faces in Toronto and plans to move from there to Montreal and Ottawa. After that, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton are expected to fill the schedule, with a potential stop at the Whistler ski resort.
Marczak filled YNOT.com in on some of the details.
YNOT: How did this all come about?
Steve Marczak: I was out partying with a few friends. We did our regular nightclub hop, ending at our favourite strip joint. At the end of that crazy night, one of the guys I had just met said, “Man you should film your life.” That’s when the wheels started turning.
I had previously owned a few adult websites and was trying to figure out what else I could come up with. Canada deserved something good and exciting they could call their own, and nearly a decade later, here we are.
Tell us about the ladies who host the series.
Kayla Ann is the wild one with fiery red hair — a total bombshell. She plays the lead in the music video “Move Your Body” by My Darkest Days. We had been briefly talking through social media when I offered her the part.
Maxim magazine dubbed Veronika London “the Megan Fox of North Hollywood.” She’s done a few movies, including Searching for Angels with Vivica A. Fox. Veronika contacted me after seeing a casting call we posted.
Ashley Sky is our girl next door. She’s cute and sexy — everything a guy could want. Ashley is awesome, and we have become quite close — well, all of us have except one.
There’s also Bex, who was my assistant and casting director until she gave her first shoot a try and blew us all away. She’s definitely a very talented and beautiful girl.
What is the Bedroom Set?
The Bedroom Set is where we film our solo scenes, and again, it’s all about the reality of it all. Most videos of this genre hide what’s really going on. We show [the process] for what it is. You get to see the models that come in that day and all that’s involved with the shoot. You never know who or what’s going to happen. Even after the first shoot we still can’t stop talking about some of the crazy stuff that went down.
Our first video has Marianne, a sexy brunette who was on the HBO series Lingerie; Krystal, a 21-year-old-knockout who ends up needing some ice cubes and a banana popsicle to cool herself down, and Magdalena, a European sex machine who definitely shocked us all.
How has the business side of the journey gone so far?
That could take a book to answer. All the ups and downs…the project has been a long time coming, with many pitfalls and utter disappointments.
I wanted to go big with this, make it a high quality big production, and that took a lot of money. I spent a lot of time finding and dealing with investors. It was a nightmare. What’s worse is that no one ever said “no,” but the sneaky things they tried to pull left me back at Square One — but, as things turned out, always for the better. This is truly an against-all-odds, never-gave-up story.
Even after getting financed, the going was tough. We had issues with our first production company. Who would have thought it would all crumble and dissolve right in the last stages of our production? We almost went down for the count and lost a lot of valuable time. Guess you just never know how some things will turn out.
What can viewers expect as the tour really gets going?
We kicked it all off with our launch in Toronto, the biggest city in Canada. I definitely wasn’t expecting all the drama. Our next stop will be a doubleheader with the first half in my favorite city, Montreal, and the second our country’s capital, Ottawa. Both should be lots of fun, especially Montreal. Things are just different there — more sexual. I believe it’s the country’s porn capital.
After those two, it’s off to the west coast with our first stop in Kayla’s home city of Vancouver, then Calgary for some cowgirl action, followed by Edmonton and a possible ski bunny episode at Whistler or Banff.
Following that, we’re east coast bound with a definite stop in Halifax. We’ll have a section in our site’s members area where fans can suggest places, even win chances to come on location and party with us and meet their favorite host. We want to get the fans get involved with this as much as possible.
What is your favorite part of this project?
Obviously, any guy could tell you this is a dream job, and I don’t want to act like there is anything that sticks out above the rest that might not be so obvious. The whole thing has been a lot harder than I thought it was going to be — much more stress with the things I couldn’t control like the girls and their drama.
As for the actual product, I would say it’s the production quality and music. We didn’t skimp and have an awesome rock/punk rock soundtrack with wicked club tracks mixed into the party action. It definitely sets us apart from our counterparts.
I went back after our first video was finished and was shocked at the music. I had never actually seen other similar videos before, as I didn’t want anything to influence my vision. I think [the music] makes a big difference.
Each episode will be on the website and on DVD, right?
Our website, CanadianPartyGirls.com, was built for the fans. With its magazine-style and layout, you get to keep up with all the action, our hosts, Bedroom Set models, stories, interviews, trailers and behind-the-scenes footage. We also have a news feed and blog.
You can watch our videos in our members area, as well. We have set up so you can just rent [each episode], if that’s all you want to see. We will probably add download-to-own soon as well as physical DVDs as a special purchase for those who may still want to collect the series.
We have a Roku channel coming out this year that will have our videos, plus lots of extras like our members area currently has. We should also be announcing [pay-per-view] dates soon.
There’s also an affiliate program that pays a 50-percent recurring revenue share.
