Camming Conference Headed for Summer Debut in Florida
MIAMI – A new adult industry conference designed to provide education and networking for webcam operators, models and fans will bow June 19-22 at Eden Roc Hotel in Miami’s South Beach.
According to a statement from the organizers, “the Camming Con conference has been founded to promote the webcamming industry and hopes to be the destination to share ideas, improve, collaborate and expand on the fastest growing content-driven industry: the cam world. The 2014 Camming Con is the first trade show of its kind, created to offer a networking platform for content providers, studio partners, models, fans and overlapping businesses.”
The conference was organized by live content producer Cheetah Lounge MediaWorks, convention producer Koncept Events and nightlife producer Shadowlounge Events, all based in southern Florida.
“Against the landscape of the current conventions in the surrounding adult markets, it was the team’s mission to produce an event that rivals and strives to exceed what all other conventions within any industry deliver,” an announcement stated. “Whether the attendee is an industry professional, model or fan, every angle was considered so all attendees could maximize the business experience.”
Spokesman Dade Sokoloff provided more insight.
“We decided it was time to get this massive industry in one place,” he said. “We want to let the players in the industry, specifically the cam-site operators, know this is the destination they have desired to not only attend and do business, but to send their top models to represent their websites. We have created the program for the models’ fans to sponsor their favorite models and a great environment for everyone involved.”
More than 100 models from sites including Streamate, Chaturbate, Naked, My Free Cams, Live Jasmin and ImLive already have signed up to participate, he added.
Because fans will be encouraged to attend, the conference’s organizers have set aside June 20 as Industry Day, meaning only webcam-related professionals will be allowed into the event. Industry Day will offer seminars, breakout sessions and group discussions in addition to exhibit booths and special promotions. Sokoloff said he expects the seminar schedule to be announced in April.
“While much of the [overall] programming will be fan-based, the primary goal is to improve, expand and enhance the camming business and to ensure every business goal is met,” he said.
