Camming Came to the Rescue for Gia Licious
By Peter Berton
CHANDLER, Ariz. – MILF model Gia Licious has had a varied career. She started out as a successful ballet dancer, then went into teaching, followed by the corporate life and then … web-camming?
It’s the truth. In fact, as Licious told YNOT.com, web-camming turned out to be the moneymaker she sought.
YNOT: Who is Gia Licious?
Gia Licious: I am a 36-year-old mother of an 11-year-old, precious little girl of whom I am most proud. She is my ultimate accomplishment in life.
I was born and raised in south Florida, but moved to Arizona five years ago. Wow, time sure goes by quickly.
Is it true you started your professional life as a dancer?
I did. My hopes and dreams starting out were to be a professional dancer. I trained extensively with some of the best and went on to dance with Ballet Florida, Ballet Met, North Carolina School of the Arts and some others.
Why did you quit?
I stopped my career as a dancer due to there being such a high demand on me being thin. Ballet was my passion, and with that career as a female, I was told at 5’7″ that I needed to be no more than 110 pounds.
I was starving myself to try to fit this unrealistic mold, so I decided to drop the career and pursue teaching dance. I taught dance in Florida at the ripe old age of 21, at high school as well as at some local studios.
To this day, my mom still says to me, “Why don’t you open up your own studio?” But life changes, and I have no regrets.
How did you get into adult?
I come from a corporate background where I went to work every day, worked a eight- to10-hour shift and hated my job.
I fell into this career purely by a bad situation. I got into a car accident that left me with some serious issues. It forced me to resign my position and work on my health.
I had no income, and my girlfriend told me about cam modeling. For my situation, this was perfect. I could work as much or as little as I needed and take breaks when I needed.
I continued on with this path and decided to venture into other avenues of the adult field. I then started adult modeling so I could have some nice pictures to provide to my cam fans.
From there, you opened your own website and soon joined up with other websites, right?
Yes. I have the type of personality that if I do something, I am going to do it and do it right. I decided I should start my own site, LiciousGia.com, and start a brand and a name for myself.
My site is pretty new, and for the short period of time of being live, I am so very proud of what I have to offer for my members. Members get access to more than 60 other girls’ sites besides my own, as well as free weekly, live, 60-minute member shows from me.
I am so happy to be on this journey and just hope to be here for a while.
What is adult entertainment like in real life, versus your ideas about the industry before you joined it?
I had some idea that we show up on set and we just fuck. Ha!
Was I wrong! During a scene the performers are told what positions to be in, where to look and how to pose. When the cam starts, you just hope that with all the pre-direction you can still flow and have fun and make it not so robotic.
I have been lucky enough to work with some amazing talent and had some great chemistry with them.
What kind of work are you doing today?
I cam full-time, shoot scenes for other sites and am always shooting content for my official site.
What do your subscribers want, and how do you give it to them?
My site is all over the place with different kinds of content, so I rarely get emails asking me to do more than what I am doing.
I explore my sexuality on cam, and sometimes I try things for the first time when the camera is rolling. I try and give something for everyone.
What makes a great cam performance?
Having fun. I am a big perve and watch cam shows from other models. You can tell a model who is having fun versus acting and just doing it for the dollars.
Is camming an effective antidote to the competition from free porn online?
I think in a way it is, but it is up to the model to train, if you will, the customer. If you are always sitting in free chat giving the world away, it’s that much harder to make money because they expect free from you.
I wish all the tube sites would just go away. Many pay sites also give away so much free content on the web. Why pay for the milk if you can get the cow for free?
What do you dislike about being in adult?
The lack of respect. So many people do not respect this job as a career. They say things like “you are just some cheap slut who can’t do anything other in life except porn.”
I say, “get up and try my job and then come talk to me. Try and perform a sexual scene with someone you just met for the very first time with a room full of people. Tell me how easy that is.”
What are your future plans?
Continue doing what I am doing. I am also planning on maybe going back to school for some kind of tech trade.
What do few people know about you?
I sucked my fingers for many years, until about the age of 10.
