“Cam_Girlfriend” Earns Best Comedy Nom at Seoul Webfest
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Camming Life announced today that its acclaimed comedy web series Cam_Girlfriend has earned a nomination for Best Comedy at the eighth annual Seoul Webfest, which is scheduled for August 18-20 at the Lotte City Hotel in Seoul, South Korea.
“It is an honor to be nominated for Best Comedy at this year’s Seoul Webfest,” the Cam_Girlfriend team said in a statement issued today. “It’s amazing that so many new audiences from around the world have responded so well to the series. Camming and comedy are truly universal!”
Founded in 2015, the Seoul Webfest is the first web series festival in Korea and Northeast Asia. At this year’s event, “filmmakers and creators will gather together for a gala red carpet event, screenings, panels and more,” Camming Life explained in announcing the series’ nomination.
Cam_Girlfriend is a 10-episode comedy series that follows the life of Chaturbate broadcaster “Chloe,” played by real-life Chaturbate broadcaster Lily LaBeau. The series covers Chloe’s struggles to balance her relationship with her boyfriend and her camming fans.
In their announcement, the Camming Life team said that Cam_Girlfriend “accurately depicts what a cam girl goes through in their day-to-day life and gives the audience a peek behind the curtain of camming,” adding that the series “delivers it all: romance, love, comedy and so much more.”
“It’s so rewarding to see Cam_Girlfriend get the recognition it deserves,” said Shirley Lara, chief operations officer of Chaturbate. “We knew it was a great series to be involved with, and it’s nice to see so many people and film organizations around the world agree.”
Cam_Girlfriend was created by Ethan Cole and written by Cole and Michael Goldlist. The series was directed by Daniel AM Rosenberg and produced by Goldlist, Rosenberg and Jason Kennedy. The series was made possible by Canada’s Independent Production Fund.
In addition to the Seoul Webfest nomination, Cam_Girlfriend has received numerous other nominations and wins at other webfests and film festivals worldwide. To view all 10 episodes of the series, visit Camming Life’s YouTube Channel.
