CAM4 Announces Fundraiser to Help Australian Wildlife
Adult camming platform CAM4 has announced a fundraising campaign to help wildlife suffering in the ongoing bushfires raging in Australia, in which CAM4 will match all donations received up to $7,500, the company announced in a blog post published Tuesday.
“As everyone is well aware by now, Australia is dealing with devastating and heartbreaking bushfires – claiming a huge amount of animal lives, houses and nature,” CAM4 wrote in its post. “CAM4 supports the fight against these fires and we urge you to join us.”
As part of the fundraising campaign, CAM4 has opened a special CAM4 profile page, “Save_Australia,” which is now accepting gifts and tokens. All tokens and gifts given to the account will be donated in full to WIRES, an Australian wildlife rescue organization, CAM4 said in its announcement.
CAM4 also has created a special limited edition “CAM4 Koala” gift worth 20 tokens, which people can give either to the Save_Australia profile, or to a CAM4 performer.
“Give this gift to the ‘Save_Australia’ profile and the full value of the gift will be donated,” CAM4 explained in its blog post. “If you give the Koala gift to a CAM4 performer, 10% of the value is donated.”
CAM4 is encouraging any users of the platform who have tokens left in their account to go the Save_Australia profile and “buy a Koala Gift or any tip/gift of your choice.”
“We thank you very much for your help! Our thoughts and prayers are with the people and wildlife of Australia,” the company added in its post.
In an emergency notice posted to its website, WIRES noting that the current crisis with the bushfires is part of a series of emergencies which are “taking a tragic toll on native wildlife.”
“In WIRES history we have never seen a concurrent series of emergencies events like those that began in November,” the organization wrote in its notice. “Hundreds of fires over weeks have burnt over 4.9 million hectares of land in NSW alone. Many animals were already struggling with a lack of water and food due to the drought. With the fires destroying unprecedented amounts of habitat, food shortages have increased and lack of suitable habitat will be a significant long-term challenge for surviving wildlife.”
