Broker.xxx and Pineapple Support launch Bullying Awareness Campaign
October is “National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month,” and Broker.xxx has teamed up with Pineapple Support to sponsor awareness in the adult industry. While most people associate bullying with schools and social media, it has been occurring on the international stage for the last few years, with adults blatantly and publicly bullying other adults. Specific political figures have all but caused the behavior to be normalized, and ultimately in today’s world, nobody seems to be immune to harassment.
“Broker.xxx has become the largest adult brokerage and industry deal-maker, with over $20 million dollars in listings available for acquisition by buyers. We also quickly became the target of bully-like intimidation and harassment shortly after we launched,” described Juicy Jay, Founder and CEO of Broker.xxx. “As we were building up our new service, we received annoying emails from an individual (which we ignored) but their communications continued and became hostile and threatening towards us.”
The company stressed that there is a difference between behaviors at the core of “bullying” and everyday aggressive business activity such as marketing, negotiations, or sales tactics.
“Our experience shows that it can happen to everyone, even industry veterans,” explained Juicy Jay. “You just ignore it and move on; But, that can be more difficult for some people who face physical threats online. With October being “Bullying Prevention Awareness Month,” it seemed the perfect time to help others who might be dealing with similar events in their lives, whether it be on industry forums, social media, or even private email.”
Pineapple Support is at the forefront of mental health in the adult industry. Through the support of industry sponsors such as Broker.xxx, it is possible for individuals affected by events (whether that is abuse, bullying, or trauma) to spend some time with a real therapist talking about it and getting the support they may desperately need.
“Mental health issues are widely associated with traumas, such as bullying, harassment, and threats. None of it is acceptable, and it is not limited to just performers and models. Sometimes childhood traumas can affect us into adulthood,” explained Leya, Founder of Pineapple Support. “We work hard to counsel and help performers and executives navigate all kinds of mental health issues. We (as human beings) need to talk to each other more about our issues, especially in a world more isolated by COVID-19. We are so happy to be working with Broker.xxx to bring more awareness.”
Both Pineapple Support and Broker.xxx strongly urge those dealing with any mental health issues and in need of someone to talk to (no matter what their role in the adult industry) to reach out to Pineapple Support at PineappleSupport.
“We trust Pineapple Support to help as many people as possible with mental health issues, no matter what they are,” stated Juicy Jay. “That’s why we’ve chosen to support their work at this difficult time for everyone.”
