Brittany Wilson of The Dungeon Store Shocks Audience on Dark Mark Show
Brittany Wilson, Brand Manager of The Dungeon Store was recently a special guest on The Dark Mark Show, a subculture and comedy podcast. Wilson shocked the audience with discussion on violet wands and electric BDSM accessories, talked about growing up as a second generation entrepreneur in the pleasure products business, and discussed her passion for educating the public about kink and sexual health.
The Dark Mark Show is hosted by Dark Mark, a Gothic comedian known for his stand up across Hollywood and Los Angeles. Kinky actress and comedian Jamie Gendron joined in as co-host for the evening.
The conversation turned to violet wands, with Dark Mark needing enlightenment on the electrifying subject.
“It shocks you in the right places…” Co-host Jamie Gendron chimed in. “I had a boyfriend who introduced me to that. He definitely made a fan out of me.”
“It plugs into the wall, and you have different attachments in the end of the device,” Wilson advised. “So most of the things you’re looking at are attachments that plug into the device itself…I can’t think of another fetish item, dildo, toy, that is as versatile as a violet wand is. You can use a body contact cable, which allows you to become the conductor, at which point, you can use your hands to shock your partner. You can use your tongue…from the tip of your nose to the tips of your toes, you can just be electrified…they’re a really sensual toy.”
Gendron was impressed by the products. “I’ve been really curious about buying a strap-on…I like the leather, I like the quality. That caught my attention.”
“Our strap-on harnesses have two d-rings that the strap folds through and then it’s adjustable,” said Wilson. “So it’s completely unique to how your body fits… One of the problems with other strap-on harnesses is they don’t sit correctly. They’ll either slide down or it will be all the way up at your belly button, which is not a realistic or comfortable location. Because ours is adjustable, it is easier to get it to the correct location. Sometimes the different position of the harness and where the dildo is aimed makes a huge difference in comfort and ease of use.”
With the excitement of Pride season, Dark Mark asked if political correctness impacts her business with regards to gender fluidity and identity.
“Political correctness…I would strongly say no,” replied Wilson, “I would say a push for inclusiveness, among people who have been traditionally marginalized in life. It means we’ve all gotta shift our perspectives a little bit. I had to go in and change a word on my website. That’s not an inconvenience…to avoid hurting people. I can live with that. That’s a value proposition. Done! Even if it took five hours, or two weeks. Done! I’m fine with that value proposition. If it makes someone feel better and my site speaks to them more, great. I love that!”
