Brittany Andrews Casting for Mainstream Movie Project
NEW YORK – Retired adult star Brittany Andrews, now a mainstream movie producer, is looking for beautiful bodies to include in her next indie film. Andrews described Crumble to YNOT as an “an edgy, art-house thriller short — sort of Requiem for a Dream meets Thelma and Louise.”Steven Bauer of Scarface and Oksana Lada from The Sopranos are set to star. Renata Lorenc will make her directorial debut. Lileth Productions and Andrews’ New York- and Los Angeles-based production company, Discipline Filmworks, will co-produce. Principal photography is scheduled to begin Oct. 9 in Manhattan.
The film’s title refers to the main character’s life. Lorna (Lada) is a beautiful, uptight wife living on the Upper East Side of New York City. Her perfect life crumbles as she loses her supposedly perfect husband to cocaine, porn and a corrupt new friend, Reda (Bauer). Lorna follows her heart into the NYC underground and explores sides she never imagined she had. She faces a battle with her own demons and empowers herself with the help of a new girlfriend, Bianca. Themes include marriage, wealth, power, prostitution, female exploitation, feminine empowerment and drug addiction.
“I came onto the project as the producer because I fell in love with the script,” Andrews told YNOT. “It’s a dark, edgy, female-empowerment film — exactly the kind of material a woman like me is attracted to.”
The film already has been selected for screenings at the New York, Los Angeles and Cannes film festivals, according to Andrews.
Crumble “will feature the ultimate decadent party scene that is sure to make a lasting mark in the mainstream movie world,” she noted. “[My] inspirations include Eyes Wide Shut, SALO, Blade and work by photographer Dave La Chapelle.”
The party scene is the one for which Andrews seeks cast members.
“[I would] prefer open-minded men and women with toned, athletic, aesthetically pleasing bodies,” she said. “If you are based in New York or will be in town during the week of Oct. 9-12, please contact us. We have a wonderful team working on the film, and I’d like to give an opportunity to some of my adult pals to be part of a great film and to be able to further any mainstream acting dreams any of them may have. The adult biz is still my roots, so whenever I can do anything to help anyone from adult with my new career, I will.
“If you are an adult film star that is looking to do mainstream acting, being involved with this sort of film will be a great opportunity and bring more clout to move forward,” she added. “There is no pay, but it will be great exposure with the potential to be considered for other mainstream feature-film roles.”
Cast members will receive invitations to attend the planned New York and Los Angeles premieres, Andrews said.
