Bomb Squad Disarms Abandoned Sex Toy
STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN — The package was humming and vibrating; two things unusual for packages – especially those located in apartment building garages. After the authorities had been called and the bomb squad completed its potentially dangerous mission, the package – and its vibrations – were a lot less mysterious. How the parcel came to be left alone is not known, but the janitor who found it knew one thing: it could be dangerous. He promptly contacted local authorities and reported the location of the Goteborg apartment garage and its strange contents.
When police arrived on the scene at the second-largest city in the country, they agreed that something didn’t look right. They called out a team of explosives experts to handle the humming and quivering bundle and cordon the area off to protect bystanders from potential harm.
“The package was vibrating when the janitor found it,” police representative Jan Strannegard explained to local media. “I think it had sort of died out by the time it was disarmed.”
As any sex toy aficionado knows, that’s what happens when the batteries inside a sex toy are allowed to run long enough. That’s what the bomb disposal team discovered, as well.
Although the suspicious item remains in police custody, Strannegard says “We don’t really expect anybody to come asking for it.”
If they do, they’ll not only have some explaining to do; they’ll need to buy new batteries.
