PANAMA – Just over 50 days ago, adult film director Fred Salaff and his film crew were taken into custody and have been held in a Panama prison on trumped-up charges.Bill Margold was on YNOT Radio’s Hump Day Lunch Show with YNOTBob and LAJ earlier today to ask listeners to help raise some money for Fred Salaff’s Legal Defense Fund, without which Salaff will remain in jail indefinitely.

According to information on the website, fredsalaff.com, Salaff and 8 others were arrested on Sunday, January 23, 2005, when the Policía Técnica y Judicial (PTJ-DIIP) de Panamá descended upon Salaff’s house where they were filming a hardcore film scene.

Neighbours had complained that something funny was going on. Despite Salaff’s efforts to keep the public eye out of the house, several young children climbed nearby trees to get a look into the windows, and reported back on the sexual activities they had witnessed.

Lawyers have been retained to work on the case, and the relevant embassies have been notified, but Salaff and the others are in need of funds to pay for their legal defense. Donations are accepted via Paypal on the site: www.fredsalaff.com.
