Big-Budget ‘Fighters’ Hits the Web with Dedicated Website

YNOT – Digital Playground has unveiled its newest website: A dedicated online home for the upcoming big-budget feature Fighters, complete with affiliate program tie-in. The two-disc DVD and Blu-ray Disc combo pack isn’t scheduled to hit store shelves until Sept. 27, but a trailer, wallpapers, on-the-set photos, performer bios and more collateral materials are available at the website, FightersXXX.com.

Developing “billboard” websites for adult feature films may have become de rigueur, but linking those sites to existing membership websites and affiliate programs remains a bit uncommon. FightersXXX handles both promotional overlays subtly, but well, providing DigitalPlayground.com with both advance buzz and a potential revenue stream even before the studio’s new feature hits the streets.

“Digital Playground didn’t pull any punches with Fighters,” said Guyleen Rose, the studio’s director of marketing. “The gloves really came off in this movie, showcasing our contract stars in an entirely different way.”

The website plays to that goal.

Director Robby D. said that the cast’s performances in Fighters “really go the distance, especially our heavy hitters Jesse Jane and Kayden Kross. They approached this film with unmatched intensity and unbridled passion. Oh, and a powerful sex drive, of course.”

The battle between the two blonde contract players goes deeper than the squared circle.

“Not only do Jesse and Kayden’s characters square off in the ring, [but] as Fighters they [also] battle a lot of personal demons outside of the ring as well,” Digital Playground founder Ali Joone said. “Fighters is a both a physically and emotionally driven movie, which naturally translates into fiery sex scenes. This is, hands down, the best performance of Jesse’s career.”

The project was shot entirely with a RED camera, requiring a bit extra from everyone involved.

“Not only did Jesse and Kayden train in boxing and fight choreography for their roles, [but] they [also] had to really embody their on-screen personas to tell the Fighters story authentically,” said DP Chief Executive Officer Samantha Lewis. “Our entire cast and crew should be very proud of this monumental accomplishment.”

Jane said Fighters was the most difficult role she has undertaken.

“I had to train in boxing for three months before we started shooting and gained some serious muscle weight,” she revealed. “It took a lot of hard work and commitment, but it was worth it. I think this is the best I’ve ever done in a movie, and I can’t wait to see it.”

Kross also remarked on the physical and emotional challenges inherent in her role.

“I’ve never actually immersed myself in a role so deeply,” she said. “Jesse and I had to undergo a physical and mental transformation for our characters to be authentic, and I hope the fans like what they see.”

Robby D. added, “I really felt strongly that this story needed to be told. So often in the adult industry, we get cast in a negative light with regards to the treatment of women. This story is about the empowerment of women and the ability for people in general to overcome obstacles in their lives and regain control. There is also a lot of hot, dirty sex and some great catfights.”

Digital Playground’s affiliate program, Digital Playground Cash, pays up to $30 per join or up to 50-percent recurring revshare on several individual sites and site bundles, including official websites for some of the studio’s top stars. According to a spokesperson, retention has risen by 38 percent since the studio migrated to its new content delivery system.
