Axel Braun to Spoof Elvis, Beatles, Rat Pack
YNOT – Axel Braun and Vivid Entertainment have announced additions planned new XXX parodies that will spoof Elvis Presley, the Beatles and the Rat Pack.
“The first one up is Elvis XXX: A Porn Parody, which we’ll shoot in November so we can have it in stores by Jan. 8, which is Elvis’ birthday,” Braun said. “I’m a huge Elvis fan. Elvis had a great sense of humor, so I’d like to think he would actually have plenty of fun watching my movie spoof.”
Dale DaBone — incidentally, also born Jan. 8 — will play Elvis at various stages of his life, and he will sing two songs. Andy San Dimas will play Priscilla Presley. The movie also will feature portrayals of Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and boxing legend Muhammad Ali, played by Tyler Knight.
Braun, who recently snagged Best Director honors during the annual NightMoves Awards show, plans to shoot The Godfather XXX in December, and in early 2011 will produce The Beatles XXX followed by The Rat Pack XXX.
The Beatles XXX will portray Liverpool’s Fab Four throughout their career using fictitious interviews with friends and family. The Rat Pack XXX will unfold over a late night, booze-fueled poker game as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin reminisce about their lives. Actors playing Ava Gardner, Mia Farrow, Jerry Lewis and Kim Novak will be featured, along with a couple of songs and plenty of slapstick and chatter, according to Braun.
“Axel has a true gift for parody, and we are delighted to be working with him on distribution of his movies,” said Steven Hirsch, founder and co-chairman of Vivid. “Because he is also a fan, he makes sure that his movies are of the highest quality.”
The planned titles complement Braun productions already scheduled for 2011, including Star Wars XXX: A Porn Parody, spoofs of popular TV shows Law & Order, Starsky & Hutch and The Addams Family, and spoofs of the movies Grease and A Clockwork Orange.
Braun’s Batman XXX: A Porn Parody, also distributed by Vivid, has been at the top of the charts since its May release. It received Best Parody awards from NightMoves and F.A.M.E.
