AVN to Combine Events; Change Dates, Location in January
YNOT – Chatsworth, Calif.-based AVN Media Network is combining three of its January events and moving the whole shebang across Las Vegas from the traditional venue at The Venetian to the Palms Casino Resort. In addition, the combined AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, AVN Novelty Expo and AVN Awards happening will take place Jan. 18-21, 2012, approximately one week after the annual Consumer Electronics Show with which AEE has run concurrently for most of its 14-year history.
“After having hosted the AVN Awards for the past two years, the Palms is excited to help AVN take the Adult Entertainment Expo and the AVN Novelty Expo in a new direction,” said Palms Chairman George J. Maloof, Jr. “Our world-class facilities and professional staff will make the January shows a great success.”
The change marks a new vision for AEE, according to a show spokesperson. Attendees and exhibitors will experience something different in 2012, concocted to align with exhibitor and attendee feedback. Disentangling the shows from CES, which ends Jan. 13, will minimize travel expenses and maximize networking opportunities for exhibitors, organizers indicated. The AVN events will overlap other consumer shows in Las Vegas, though, including The Shot Show, an annual shooting and hunter gathering that brings more than 50,000 firearms enthusiasts to the city.
“The Palms has been a fantastic venue for us,” said AVN founder Paul Fishbein, noting the hotel previously has served as the venue for both the AVN Awards and the company’s internet-focused trade show, Internext. “The intimacy of the space and the helpfulness and enthusiasm of the management and staff guarantee that our exhibitors and attendees will have a superior environment in which to do business.”
AEE’s official website, including details and registration information, is expected to be updated by Aug. 1. Interested parties may register at the site now in order to receive notices and announcements about the show as they are available.
AEE will take place Jan. 18-21. ANE is slated to occur Jan. 18-20, and the AVN Awards gala will occupy the Palms’ Pearl Concert Theater on Saturday, Jan. 21.
