Author Alleges Former Vivid Girl Stole Book
WASHINGTON, DC —Representatives for author Dianne Miller say their client was never compensated for her contributions to former porn star/Vivid contract performer Heather Hunter’s debut novel.A statement issued by KD Communications alleges Hunter’s book, Insatiable: The Rise of a Porn Star, draws heavily on a manuscript Miller wrote in 2005 called Insatiable Desires.
Hunter allegedly hired Miller to ghostwrite the manuscript after her own efforts at writing a semi-autobiographical title failed. However, Miller says she was never compensated for her work or even told that it had been sold.
“When I first heard that Heather had written a book called Insatiable about a young adult film actress, I thought it might be a coincidence,” Miller said in a press statement. “I considered her a friend and didn’t believe she would do that to me. Unfortunately, I later had to acknowledge what was going on.”
Hunter appears in the upcoming Denzel Washington films American Gangster. Thru Blo Records, Hunter’s 2005 hip hop debut CD “The Unexpected” is available. During her adult career, Hunter was one of the most successful black female performers of her day, appearing in under 100 productions, mostly for Vivid Entertainment Group where she was a contract performer for a spell. At one point, she dated comedian Bill Maher. Hunter hosted a book release party for Insatiable in August.
