ASACP Seeks Trade Show, Conference Sponsors
YNOT – Although the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection will not be able to send representatives to July’s Cybernet Expo in San Francisco, the organization will be at the trade show in spirit. ASCAP information will be distributed in all guest bags as a way of reminding adult industry insiders of the important work performed by the advocacy organization.“Attending trade shows is an excellent opportunity to talk to people face to face about what they can do to protect children online,” said ASACP Chief Executive Officer Joan Irvine. “It still shocks us that people don’t know about ASACP. ASACP is a vital resource to anyone in the adult industry.”
However, budgetary constraints keep the small staff from traveling to more than a handful of trade shows each year.
“Typically we attend the AVN and XBIZ shows in Las Vegas each year, the XBIZ show in Hollywood [Calif.] each summer, The Phoenix Forum, and [Technology and Forensic Research Director] Tim [Henning] attends Qwebec Expo,” Irvine said. “When we have sponsors to help us out, then I attend the Barcelona Summit. And we are hoping to get support to go to The AVN Show this summer, but we are not sure about that. Since we can’t attend all events, some events will distribute info on our behalf.”
Cybernet Expo is one of those events. An annual international tradeshow designed exclusively for online business professionals, the conference will take place this year July 8-10 at the Golden Gateway Hotel in downtown San Francisco. The show boasts an uncommon mix of educational courses, informative seminars, business networking events and evening parties.
“We are grateful to Cybernet Expo for always being so supportive of ASACP and for helping to share ASACP’s mission and work with this year’s attendees,” Irvine said. “Whether it is because you believe in protecting children, want to protect your business, or need to expand your bottom line by expanding your market, anyone operating an adult business online needs to know about ASACP. By demonstrating corporate responsibility, you are letting the companies you do business with and your customers know that you are doing your due diligence to be compliant with child safety standards and have reduced your risk factors, which in turn can benefit any adult company on many levels.”
According to Cybernet Expo Director of Operations Jay “LAJ” Kopita, “It’s our pleasure to support ASACP at Cybernet Expo, and we appreciate their support of our event year after year. It makes sense to work together when both organizations are always looking out for the good and welfare of the adult industry.”
Companies and individuals who would like to help ASACP attend industry trade shows and child-protection conferences by sponsoring airfare and accommodations may contact Irvine by email.
