APHSS Adds New Performer Testing Resource
YNOT – Adult Production Health & Safety Services has added a new web-based service to its network of performer testing facilities.
STDstatus.com schedules appointments with more than 2,000 U.S. clinics in the LabCorp network. The firm also provides 24-telephone support and can schedule phone consultations with physicians when necessary or requested. All performer-testing results are delivered to the APHSS database.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer more options to performers for testing, especially performers that are located outside of the Los Angeles area,” said Diane Duke, executive director of the Free Speech Coalition, which operates APHSS. “To comply with APHSS policy, STDstatus.com works with a national network of doctors and service providers, and they offer the Aptima HIV-1RNA Qualitative Assay test. It’s exciting to welcome them to the program.”
A unique feature of the STDstatus website is a “live chat” option through which clients may ask general questions about testing and test locations in real time. STDstatus representatives also may be reached by phone, 24 hours a day, at 866-554-4296.
Duke said STDstatus will return test results within three to four business days at a cost of $149 per panel. In addition to the industry standard tests for HIV, Chlamydia and gonorrhea, STDstatus also includes syphilis testing free of charge.
“We are very excited to have partnered with APHSS in helping to maintain reliable health services for performers,” STDstatus President Michelle Leone said. “We look forward to extending our professional and convenient testing services to the adult entertainment industry.”
