Angels Giving Tree Begins 2012 Holiday Drive
YNOT – Angels Giving Tree, a not-for-profit organization devoted to providing holiday cheer for families in need, has begun its 2012 fundraising drive.
A spokesperson said the Plantation, Fla.-based organization was founded by adult industry veterans and therefore is happy to work with the adult entertainment industry. In fact, 2012 will be the second year several industry insiders will provide their financial support in memory of the late Todd “sextoyking” Ostrer, who died in October 2011. During his lifetime, Ostrer was a generous benefactor of charities and often challenged others in the industry to get involved, especially during the holidays.
Because Angels Giving Tree is staffed entirely by volunteers, 100 percent of the donations to the organization directly benefit families. In 2011, AGT helped provide holiday cheer to almost 200 children, the spokesperson said. The organization hopes to increase the number of families it helps this year. To that end, AGT is hoping to entice corporations to initiate matching-funds programs.
“We believe every child should have a Christmas to celebrate, and our vision of peace on earth and goodwill toward men includes a gift under every tree,” the spokesperson said. “If you are fortunate enough to be able to provide a Christmas for your family, please take a moment and spread your love by helping make a very merry Christmas for a family in need.
“By working with Angels Giving Tree, you’ll be adopting children and families that have signed up with us that are a part of various charitable organizations and children’s hospitals in our community. Our goal is to reach as many children as we possibly can.”
