American Company Acquires Venerable UK Nude Site
LOS ANGELES – Erotic network MetArt has acquired two long-running UK-based sites known for presenting “the art of the simple nude”: DOMAI.com and GoddessNudes.com.
Founded in 1997 as one of the adult industry’s first softcore websites, DOMAI.com is an institution. The popular, low-key destination contains no porn, opting instead for “just excellent nude pictures of beautiful girls and stories and articles about beauty, culture and nudity.” Founder Eolake Stobblehouse has been credited with helping to define the concept “artistic nude” as it pertains to curated online content.
DOMAI’s “ongoing success is a testament to the vision and perseverance of its founder,” a MetArt spokesperson said. “While many other sites have stumbled with multiple changes and full-scale re-works, Eolake has been adamant with his member-first mentality and simple-nudes content. The continued strong results speak for themselves.”
Stobblehouse initially started DOMAI as a hobby born of his appreciation for the female form. As his collection of photographs gained traction and the website gained legions of fans, he realized he had tapped into a phenomenon much broader than one man’s fascination with “gorgeous young women — happy, sweet, innocent nudes.” Not until a friend suggested that he should charge for admission did the idea of hosting a membership website occur to him, he said — and once he embraced the notion, he felt honor-bound not only to do justice to the models, but also to the members.
“It is a fine line, maintaining the integrity of the site and its content, being honest and respectful to your members while competing and growing in today’s more sophisticated and progressive economic climate,” he said. “It is difficult to let DOMAI go, but I know it is in great hands and I look forward to my life’s next chapter, which includes a renewed focus on my art and writing.”
According to MetArt co-owner Jon Krogman, “We have a great deal of respect for Eolake, what he has accomplished in this industry and the sites he has created. Our intention is to stay true to his vision, making gradual changes based on our knowledge of the softcore niche and the site’s customer base. There is no rush.”
DOMAI affiliates will need to change their links. To do so, they must visit MetArt Money. Existing links will continue to function, but only those who update their links will be able to take advantage of new tools and features offered by MetArtMoney, Krogman said.
