Ainslee Divine Reinvents Herself with Own Clothing Line
It’s always fascinating to talk with people who reinvent themselves which is why YNOT wanted to speak with Ainslee Divine.
A multiple award nominated (9X) and winner, cam model and clips artist who is in the top .12% on OnlyFans and already earns 6-figures annually every year, Ainslee could have just sat back, rode the wave of her success and basked in its comfort.
But instead, the buxom blonde who is a huge player in the 40+ “MILF next door” market decided to add another dimension to her already busy world and follow a passion of hers – retail.
This year, she launched MyGirlCrush Clothing – a fashion forward brand selling comfortable, body positive clothes that she calls “trendy not spendy” and “forever sexy.” Read on to learn how Ainslee reimagined her career and added a new business to her already impressive resume.
How did you get your start in the adult business?
I started an Instagram account in the summer of 2016 under a pseudo name and it just took off.
I don’t know what I was expecting from it but what happened wasn’t it. I had so many different opportunities being offered to me, but I was lucky to get connected with someone who managed solo websites for models. It was before OnlyFans was around and it seemed like a great option to coincide with me being on cam. I was very fortunate to have great advice from people who had been in the industry for a long time. In early October of 2016 I went live on cam for the first time. About 45 days later my website launched and my adult career was off and running.
I have never looked back!
What was the inspiration for starting MyGirlCrush?
My first job was at a major fashion retail store, so I’ve always loved fashion!
I worked my way up through the company and left as a manager/buyer. Although I left the company and stepped away from the fashion industry, it was always part of my life. When trying to decide what my next endeavor would be there was no doubt in my mind that I would step back into the fashion industry and go for it. My inspiration is my desire and appreciation for fashion! It’s in my blood.
Give us your elevator pitch for MyGirlCrush.
I live for comfortable clothes but am always striving to be sexy or stylish as well, so I went into it with that type of mindset. Providing fabrics that are soft, easy to wear and take care of was a must. We offer clothing that you can wear while running errands but can also accessorize for an evening out with friends.
In this day and age having clothing that is versatile is a must and our clothes are exactly that!
Do you have a hand in the designing? What is the process of deciding what clothes, colors, and materials you ultimately put up for sale?
I’m always keeping my eye on new fashion designs and know the trends that never go out of style, so I use that knowledge when selecting what pieces to buy.
I definitely have my hand in designing some of the pieces. When I get a basic sample, I use my vision to make small changes here and there to give the item that MyGirlCrush flare!
What has been the most difficult thing about launching MyGirlCrush?
There’s nothing easy about starting a company and you just have to know that going in. Honestly most things have been difficult in one way or another, but you just work through each problem one at a time. If I had to pick, I would say that website designing, and marketing are probably the two hardest things to get right though.
What are some of the most important things you’ve learned in the process of launching MyGirlCrush?
I’ve learned that it seems easy, but it isn’t! There are so many little things that you don’t even think about and then they pop up and you have to navigate through them.
Another really important thing I’ve learned is to take your time. Opening a business is exciting but making sure everything is in place and running correctly is an important step that gets overlooked sometimes because there’s always such urgency to just get opened.
How do you ensure quality in your products and what is your customer service like?
We ordered samples from several vendors before we settled on the companies that we are using. We inspected the fabrics and the construction of the items because ultimately it is our label on the product and we have to be able to stand behind it. Each item is then inspected again before it’s packaged to go out to ensure the customer will be receiving it in perfect condition. Obviously if the item is damaged, we will make it right for the customer immediately.
Customer service is our priority!
Was there ever a moment where you felt like “I can’t do this?” What advice do you have for those who are afraid to start a new business venture?
“I can’t do this” isn’t language I like to have in my vocabulary. Getting outside of your comfort zone and trying something new is important for personal growth and success. My advice is to do your research on the product and know all the ins and outs. Creating an outline/plan is important but know that things change so you have to be flexible when you hit a bump in the road.
Nothing comes easy but when you put your heart and soul into something and see it flourish there is nothing more satisfying.
How have other people along the way helped you with MyGirlCrush?
I am blessed to have some amazing friends and vendors in the industry that have all been beyond excited for me and the launch of MyGirlCrush. They know who they are and how much their support means to me… and I couldn’t have done this without each and every one of them!
What are your goals for the next five years with MyGirlCrush?
I have so many ideas for what to do next with the company, but I’m not ready to share them all just yet! The one I will share is that my ultimate goal for MGC would be a brick-and-mortar store here in Scottsdale. That would be a true success story for me.
Right now, I am getting ready to order some new products for Fall/Winter and will start advertising across some major social media outlets soon. Our product speaks for itself and everyone that’s purchased our clothes loves them. I’m looking to continue that success and add on more product lines in the near future.
Fashion is constantly changing and MGC is ready for it. We are in it for the long haul!
