YNOT – Online video-on-demand network AEBN on Wednesday announced the winners of its 7th annual VOD Awards. Since 2006, AEBN has calculated and celebrated the most popular films and the stars of the year based on the viewing habits of those who visit the company’s network of VOD theaters.

Nominations are based on per-minute sales in one calendar year, determined by what the company calls “a precise, in-house accounting system.”

“We know the VOD Awards are special to us and many of the winners, because it is really the fans’ voices being heard,” said Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jerry Anders. “The films and stars that we honor with the VOD Awards are the ones that fans love to watch again and again. A VOD Award shows the strong fan base that each of the winners has.”

The awards cover a range of genres, and special honors also are given for Lifetime Achievement and Studio of the Year. Director Paul Thomas received this year’s Lifetime Achievement honors, while Mile High Media was named Studio of the Year.

“The AEBN VOD Awards mean so much to me because they represent the true voice of the fans,” said director Nica Noelle, whose The Babysitter 3 for Mile High Media subsidiary Sweet Sinner took Best Feature honors. “It’s based purely on what fans spent their time and money to see.”

Winners, listed below, will receive their awards via mail, Anders said.
