AdXpansion Closes, JuicyAds Acquires Technology Assets
VANCOUVER – JuicyAds announced Thursday that it has acquired “select underlying technology and other assets during the closure and liquidation of AdXpansion.” AdXpansion, an ad network that launched in 2009, shut down operations on August 1.
“It is a bit sad to see AdXpansion completely gone,” said Juicy Jay, CEO and Founder of JuicyAds.com. “Even though all operations at AdXpansion are now ceased, we have acquired the most interesting parts of the technology and they are being implemented at JuicyAds and will be kept alive for years to come.”
“Advertisers and Publishers formerly with AdXpansion are recommended to join the JuicyAds platform to upgrade their services,” JuicyAds said in its statement.
As noted in JuicyAds’ announcement, the closure of AdXpansion is one of several adult advertising networks to shut down in recent years, including Reporo’s voluntary liquidation last year.
According to a study published last month, JuicyAds monetizes approximately 11% of the world’s adult advertising websites. The study analyzed data from 22,484 adult sites and found three adult traffic networks – JuicyAds, ExoClick and EroAdvertising – in the list of the top 10 sites tracking users on the sites included in the study.
“We are pleased to see the strength of our market share of adult websites being identified by notable third-party studies,” Juicy Jay said at the time. “We have been working harder than ever and our inventory continues to grow, as well as our platform features, such as the Adsistant auto-optimization tool that has been a revolutionary time-saver.”
