AdultTime’s “Grinders”: A Feature Grounded in ‘90s Skateboard Culture
MONTREAL – On May 31, adult streaming platform Adult Time will release Grinders, a 1990’s-inspired coming-of-age story filmed in the “no-rules skateboard aesthetic of that era,” as described in the film’s press kit.
Written by Shawn Alff and directed by Ricky Greenwood, the talent-packed of Grinders cast includes Maya Woulfe, Lucky Fate, Robby Echo, Tommy Pistol, Vicki Chase, Nathan Bronson, Charlotte Sins, Vanna Bardot, Lily Bell, Liv Revamped and Tyrone Love.
In the film, Lucky is a 20-something skater who has arrived at a crossroads in his life. As he wanders the city, landing tricks and running into old friends and new enemies, viewers are treated to glimpses of the sex lives of those around him. Slowly coming out of his shell, Lucky reconnects with his longtime crush, Morgan. Soon after, he’s faced with the toughest choice of his life. Will Lucky make the right decision?
“This is one of my most exciting films and I’m glad to have Adult Time behind me,” Greenwood said. “We have a stellar cast and crew. Nathan Bronson, Robby Echo, and Lucky Fate really cranked it up many notches with the amount of time they practiced skateboarding before we even entered filming. I was really impressed with their skills.
“Tommy Pistol, Lilly Bell, Charlotte Sins, Maya Woulfe, Vicki Chase and Vanna Bardot did an incredible job with their acting and performances,” Greenwood added. “I can’t wait until the movie comes out this summer and know it will definitely do well in the 2023 awards season.”
Grinders is slated to be released at the end of the month on the Adult Time platform. For more information, photos from the set and other details on the cast and crew, please visit GrindersFilm.com.
