AdultSpace.com Marks World Aids Day with Free HIV/AIDS Online Resource Guide
YNOT – December 1st is recognized globally as World Aids Day, and one company from the adult entertainment space is doing its part to raise awareness about the destructive AIDS pandemic. AdultSpace.com, a social networking website for adults only, is providing visitors with a free guide that offers important facts about HIV/AIDS, including information about where to get tested or find treatment in 12 major US cities plus London.“Despite the fact that no cure exists yet for HIV/AIDS, there are key prevention actions that are globally recognized,” the company wrote in a press release. “AdultSpace is providing invaluable information about safer sex practices, prevention tactics, along with education about the disease and the importance of being tested. Living a long, healthy life is possible if you are HIV positive, if you catch the disease in its early stages.”
World Aids Day was started in 1987 by James Bunn and Thomas Netter, specialists at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Switzerland. The day is usually marked by speeches by high profile politicians, as well as public and private memorials for victims of the AIDS pandemic.
Although World Aids Day is only on December 1st, AdultSpace.com says it will keep its HIV/AIDS resource page active continually.
“This information portal for AIDS Awareness will remain live on the site to spread AIDS Awareness every day of the year,” the company wrote. “AdultSpace hopes to educate and aid their members, and prevent AIDS from claiming more lives.”
More than 33 million people are living with HIV worldwide, with approximately half of those people being women. In 2008, approximately 2 million people died from HIV-related complications.
