Adult Toon Artist Jaguar Gets His Own Cyber-digs
YNOT – Adult comics network Xposh.com has added an 11th website to its portfolio.
ArtOfJaguar.com, which bowed Oct. 1, is artist-driven. It joins other sites similarly focused, including JohnPersons.com (devoted to Persons’ fetish, interracial and taboo graphic art) and the multi-artist JABcomix.com.
Xposh also is the home of PoonNet.com, possibly the first adult comics pay site to venture online. PoonNet debuted in 1998.
At launch, ArtOfJaguar housed six never-before-seen galleries, three complete comics (“Dirty Homeless Needs,” “Professor Pinkus” and “My Dreams of Alexa”) and a new series, “Bangin’ Buddies.” Members also receive access to six other sites in the network.
“High-quality, skilled artists who know how to really bring an image to life and tell a story that captivates are extremely hard to find,” said Xposh President Kevin Leung. “Jaguar is such a rare talent that we decided to sign and commit to him as soon as we saw some of his celebrity parody work.”
He added that Jaguar’s celebrity parody art has found its way onto mainstream pop-culture sites.
“To draw attention to Jaguar and help build up his fan base, we want to parody whatever is popular at the moment and circulate that drawing all over the web,” Leung said. “Then whoever visits our site will also notice his original comics, which are not only sexy and provocative, but also quite humorous.”
Leung said cartoon porn holds several advantages over traditional live-action porn. For one thing, the cast never ages. For another, production budgets are significantly lower when a studio doesn’t have to pay live actors. Additionally, cartoonists — who are limited only by their imaginations — can deal with themes and vices that may be off-limits in the real world.
That does not, however, prevent them from representing real people in their work. In fact, Xposh has signed cosplay model Marie-Claude Bourbonnais to model for Jaguar and appear at the company’s booth during the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas in January.
“This is the first time we’ve teamed up with a live model in our comics,” Leung said. “Now, when fans read our comics that feature Marie, they can fantasize about someone that’s real and not just existing in our cartoon universe.”
Many of the Xposh network sites are part of the PoshBucks affiliate program, which pays webmasters a 50-percent revenue share.
