Adult Time Releases “STARS”, Based on Jane Wilde’s True Story
MONTREAL – Adult Time has announced the release of STARS, a film based on the true story of performer/director Jane Wilde’s path to a career in sex work and adult entertainment.
Written and directed by Wilde and Adult Time Chief Creative Officer Bree Mills, STARS presents Wilde’s story as a series of memories during a young woman’s final months as a teenager, as she finds her own path into professional sex work after being manipulated by an older man.
Wilde called the film the “first step in what will be a lifetime of healing and reflection due to my experience.”
“I’m honored that I was given the opportunity to turn what was a traumatic period of my life into art that can be consumed by so many people,” Wilde said. “I’ve always loved writing and getting my thoughts out onto a page just feels right for me. STARS was the experience of a lifetime for me to star in, write, and co-direct.”
Wilde added that she has “been thinking back a lot lately to the time of my life depicted in STARS, something I was scared to do until this year.”
“I could never have imagined I would be where I am now as a teenager living in Queens,” Wilde said. “My circumstances have changed – but what I was able to take away from those experiences will stay with me forever, as well as the experience of creating this film. I’ve learned that life is what you make of it. Thank you for letting me share a piece of my story with you.”
Mills said that with STARS, “we are reclaiming a narrative that is so often spoken for us and used against us.”
“I applaud Jane for her honesty and bravery in turning her real-life experiences into art and am honored to have been part of her journey,” Mills added.
STARS is now available on AdultTime.com. For more information on the film, click here.
