Adult Crowdfunding Site Launches
TORRANCE, Calif. – Launched two weeks later than projected, a new crowdfunding site hopes to give the adult industry a place to go when turned away by mainstream funding resources like GoFundMe.
According to developers, CumFundMe.com is designed specifically for adult entertainment performers, producers, directors, inventors and others to solicit donations for their causes and projects. Its financial model is identical to GoFundMe’s: Successful campaigns pay a 5-percent commission on total funds raised, plus a 2.9-percent PayPal fee and 30 cents per donation.
“I’m very excited and honored to finally bring this platform to the adult industry,” Chief Executive Officer Ricky Booker said. “We have been getting tremendous feedback from so many great people in the industry. Not to mention a ton of mainstream press as well.
“Now it’s finally here for the world to see,” he continued. “My vision is to make a change in the adult industry, and CumFundMe is a very important step in de-stigmatizing adult content.”
The company named retired adult performer Dylan Ryder official spokesmodel.
“I’m honored to have been invited to be a part of this team, and I fully support Ricky’s vision,” she said. “To be able to creatively market this platform and be directly involved from the ground up is very fulfilling and will be exciting to watch.”
The site’s tagline, “The World’s Biggest Adult Entertainment Fundraising Website,” may be overstating the case just a bit, because the site offered no listings as of Wednesday afternoon.
