LOS ANGELES – “Exotic” is an apt word to describe Asian-Hispanic starlet Adrianna Luna. The word “unexpected” also applies: After graduating from college with a degree in public relations, Luna took all that education straight into the world of adult entertainment. She received rave reviews for her roles in The Lone Ranger XXX: An Extreme Comixxx Parody and Wicked Pictures’ Tuff Love.

YNOT.com wanted to know a bit about the woman behind the talent.

YNOT: You actually chose porn over PR. Why?

Adrianna Luna: I got into the industry on a whim after one of my girlfriends suggested I give it a try. I was stuck in a career I wasn’t passionate about and was looking to make a change. My friend suggested porn because I wanted something with a flexible schedule, so I could go back to school if needed. I started in March 2011 and have been having a blast ever since.

The funny thing is, once I got into the field and practicing, I found life in an office for eight hours every day wasn’t for me.

What was your first porn shoot like?

It was extremely nerve-wracking and scary, but everyone on the set was very welcoming and professional. I got comfortable very fast. By the end of the day, I was walking around naked. Ha!

What have been some of the high points of your career?

Some of the high points have to be the recognition from the fans and critics in the form of awards and nominations. It’s very rewarding to have your work recognized among so many other talented people.

Also, leading my first feature film, Tuff Love, was so thrilling! I felt very lucky to be chosen to work alongside some of the best in the industry and for such a great studio.

You call yourself “a love child of fitness and porn,” and frequently feature your personal fitness routines on your tumblr pages. What’s up with that?

Fitness is a huge passion of mine. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and I’ve always been super active and into sports. I’m obsessed with CrossFit and did amateur [mixed martial arts] competitions before getting into the adult industry.

I like to share a more personal side with my fans and give them a peek into my real life. I love being able to help motivate others to get healthier, and I’m lucky I have a platform to be able to share my knowledge and give tips to my fans.

What do you like and dislike about doing porn?

Aside from the obvious — having sex for a living — I like that every day is different. It’s always a new challenge. I also like that I’m my own boss and set my own schedule.

I don’t like all the travelling associated with the job. It’s hard living out of a suitcase. I get homesick pretty easy, and I dislike not having control over my diet and cooking my own meals. I love to travel but dislike traveling for work.

What do you wish directors knew about the work, from a performer’s point of view?

I wish they knew how uncomfortable certain positions are, and how awkward it is to have sex on desks, tables and random props.

What are your future plans?

I would love to get into the more creative side behind the camera. Directing, set design and writing scripts all interest me.

What do few people know about you?

I’m completely monogamous in my personal life. I like to play a naughty girl on screen, but I’m a good girl at heart.
