Adam & Eve Survey Sheds Light on Lovemaking Habits
YNOT – A recent survey by adult novelty retailer Adam & Eve discovered most American adults prefer a mixture of lighting styles and levels during sex. The web-based survey, conducted by an independent third-party survey company, polled more than 1,000 American adults age 18 and up.
Among the company’s international following on Facebook, the results were similar: 40 percent indicated they prefer a variety of lighting, 40 percent said they keep the lights off, and 20 percent gave thumbs up to keeping the lights on.
Dr. Kat Van Kirk, Adam & Eve’s resident sex expert, encourages adults to experiment with their lovemaking habits, including their lighting choices.
“Being able to see your partner and the passion you share is an important part of lovemaking,” Van Kirk said. “For couples who feel they are under a spotlight with the lights on, I recommend starting with soft candlelight or firelight. You’ll be amazed how lighting can influence intimacy.”
The lighting survey was part of an ongoing effort to study sexual preferences and practices.
“Adam & Eve is pleased to help millions of adults find their way to greater sexual fulfillment,” Director of Marketing Chad Davis said. “For more than 40 years, we’ve contributed to better lovemaking through education, communication and a wide array of products to make any erotic encounter better.”
