Adam & Eve a Big Winner During 2010 AVN Awards
YNOT – Amid an overload of flash, dash and panache, adult industry trade journal Adult Video News presented the 27th annual AVN Awards Sunday evening. Adam & Eve, a company that started as a small mail-order lingerie and adult toys operation before branching into video production, walked away with a dozen 2010 awards.Among others, Adam & Eve took top honors in the Best Video Feature, Best Videography/Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Special Effects and Best DVD Extras categories, all for the studio’s high-budget release, The 8th Day.
In all, The 8th Day received nine awards.
Performers in pornographic parodies took Best Actor and Best Actress awards: Eric Swiss for his role in Not Married with Children XXX (X Play/LFP Studios) and Kimberly Kane for The Sex Files: A Dark XXX Parody (Digital Sin/Revolution X).
Winners in the online categories included Web Starlet of the Year Sunny Leone, Best New Web Starlet Lexi Belle, Best Adult Website BangBros.com and Best Retail Website AdultDVDEmpire.com. The award for Best On-Line Marketing Campaign (Company Image) went to X-Play’s Sitcums.com, and the award for Best On-Line Marketing Campaign (Individual Project) went to Adam & Eve’s The8thDayXXX.com.
CCBill’s Ron Cadwell, NationalNet’s Tony Morgan and Cybersocket’s Morgan Sommer were inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame – Internet Founders Branch.
The gala awards ceremony, hosted inside the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Resort Casino, featured a red carpet prelim and offered all the drama and spectacle for which the “Academy Awards of Adult” are infamous.
