Accused Murderer Sowell Cruised Adult FriendFinder Site
CLEVELAND – According to police, rapist and accused serial killer Anthony Sowell maintained a profile on adult fetish dating site Alt.com, a division of the FriendFinder Network owned by Penthouse. Sowell is believed to have uploaded the profile in July 2005, just one month after his release from a 15-year prison term to which he was sentenced for the rape and strangulation of a 21-year-old woman he reportedly lured to his bedroom in 1989.Sowell hit the headlines last week after the badly decomposed bodies of six women were discovered inside his Cleveland home. The Cuyahoga County, Ohio, coroner’s office determined five of the women were strangled. A cause of death has not been determined for the sixth due to decomposition of her remains.
Sowell’s Alt.com profile describes him as a dominant seeking submissives to train.
“If your [sic] submissive and like to please, then this master wants to talk to you,” the profile reads. “So get you’re [sic] ass on over here NOW!”
The profile, which does not list any sexual fetishes as particular favorites of Sowell’s, notes his last login was about three months ago.
Police have not determined how long the rotting corpses were inside Sowell’s home, but have said some may have been there for “years.” Sowell last received a home visit from probation officials on Sept. 22. The home visits are part of Cleveland’s sex-offender monitoring program.
Hours after officers visited Sowell, a young woman reported she was raped at the property. Authorities requested and received a search warrant, which they executed Oct. 27 while Sowell was out of the house. He was apprehended two days later.
