35 Years of Niche Marketing Success

Chief Executive Officer Dennis Paradise founded the Vista, Calif.-based company in 1978 as a go-to resource for the top condom brands. Paradise Marketing launched with an inventory including products by Lifestyles, TROJAN parent company Johnson & Johnson, and Durex. Seeing a need in the market for related essentials like lubricants, the company branched out a tiny bit and added K-Y products to the mix. The move proved profitable not only for Paradise, but also for K-Y and retailers.
In 1996, Astroglide approached Paradise to handle its sales and marketing. Today, Paradise is the exclusive distributor for the entire line of Astroglide products.
“I was introduced to the condom business at an early age, as my family has been a fixture in the industry since 1943,” Paradise said. “I grew up with a special understanding of how this business functions, and when I founded Paradise Marketing in 1978, I had unique knowledge and solid relationships that helped propel my company to the top.
“Now my loyal and talented team and I are proudly celebrating the 35-year milestone,” he continued. “It’s an honor to work with the best in the business, and I’d like to thank my customers and clients for their ongoing support. I’m happy as long as they’re making money.”

To top off an already stellar year, Paradise said he was thrilled to be inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame – Pleasure Products Branch as part of the class of 2013. During January’s 30th annual AVN Awards ceremony, Paradise joined a hand-selected group of trailblazers and innovators honored for their business excellence and accomplishments in the design, distribution and sale of pleasure products.
