2012 Phoenix Forum Seeks Seminar Proposals
YNOT – Since its inception, Phoenix Forum organizers have made education one of the event’s primary goals. Nothing has changed for the 2012 gathering, which will take place March 29 through April 1 at the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel in Tempe, Ariz.
Community input plays a large role in determining what topics should be addressed during the forum’s panel discussions and workshops, and to that end, on Thursday organizers issued a call for proposals.
Although the intention and format for the educational tracks remains the same, a few new wrinkles to session structure were added for 2012, said spokesman Scott Reiland.
“One piece of feedback we heard last year was that our naming convention for the sessions was sometimes unclear,” he said. “For 2012, we are going back to the chalkboard (so to speak) and developing a set of themes centered on the primary purpose of our seminars: education.”
In order to discourage confusion, TPF’s forums and workshops will employ naming conventions standardized in the vaunted halls of higher education. For example, a seminar designed to address questions common among industry newbies might be called “Business 101,” while a more in-depth session might bear the name “Advanced Billing 501.” Hands-on, interactive workshops will be referred to as “labs.”
“But don’t worry,” Reiland said. “The only prerequisite for any session is attendance at the Phoenix Forum.”
Anyone with ideas for topics to be addressed during the forum’s educational sessions — and anyone interested in participating as a panelist or speaker — may email TPF organizers for details.
