YNOT – The window for pre-nominating people, movies, studios and websites for the 2010 GAYVN Awards will close at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, June 16. No further pre-nominations will be accepted beyond that point.Industry members who would like to make pre-nom suggestions to the GAYVN Awards staff may email prenom@gayvn.com for a username, password and link to the submissions page. Industry insiders may nominate as many titles, people and companies as they desire in any category; however, participants are encouraged to nominate only their best efforts.

In order to be considered for a 2010 award, a production must have been released between Jan. 1, 2009, and May 31, 2010. Newcomers, studio marketing campaigns and web-based promotions and marketing efforts must have debuted during the same period.

This year marks the 12th annual presentation of the “Oscars of gay adult entertainment,” which honor outstanding achievement across the spectrum. The 2010 GAYVN Awards will be presented Sept. 24 during a gala ceremony in San Francisco’s historic Castro Theatre, amid four days of nonstop action in conjunction with the legendary Folsom Street Fair.

DVD and web categories are included in this year’s lineup. The Trailblazer award will be presented for the second time. Channel 1 Releasing co-founder and GAYVN Hall of Fame director Chi Chi LaRue received the first-ever Trailblazer award during 2009’s ceremony.

For the first time, a GAYVN Award will presented based upon fan input. “Personality of the Year” will recognize the zaniest, sexiest, most-over-the-top non-sex personalities who operate in and around the realm of gay adult entertainment.

Nominated websites will need to provide judges with access to their password-protected areas, if such exist. Studios are asked to provide two copies of each title they would like the GAYVN Awards judges to consider. DVDs should be shipped to arrive no later than 5 p.m. PT June 30.
