2000Charge Adds Direct Debit for Australia, New Zealand
YNOT – Internet payment services provider 2000Charge now allows consumers in Australia and New Zealand to pay for their online purchases using their bank accounts instead of relying on credit cards.
According to a company spokesperson, 45 percent of Australian adults don’t own credit cards. The direct-debit transaction model not only offers greater ease and comfort for both consumers and merchants, but also eliminates chargeback risks.
With direct-debit, “unlike [with] a credit card, the consumer makes a payment that cannot be reversed by the bank,” the spokesperson said.
Merchants receive instant confirmation of successful transactions, so there need be no delay in fulfilling impulse purchases. Adding the payment option to an existing account requires no additional registration or fees.
“2000Charge merchants will not only benefit from this payment method, but also have the ability to target new markets through 2000Charge’s unique 1-Button feature, which currently provides access to 25 alternative payment solutions,” the spokesperson said. “Merchants do not have to register individually for each payment service option, as they are all conveniently provided through one solution.”
