FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The sexy nerd look is all the rage in porn these days, with 20/20-sighted models donning glasses to convey the right attitude.

Bespectacled Roxanne Rae isn’t faking.

“Honestly, I’m blind without my glasses,” the 20-year-old, D-cup brunette told YNOT.com. “I couldn’t survive if I didn’t have them.”

YNOT: So, you’re not wearing glasses for the sake of your image?

Roxanne Rae: It’s not a look I’m going for. It’s really how I look. I’m glad it works out though, because if they didn’t want me to wear [the glasses], I couldn’t look at all the beautiful people I get to have sex with.

So tell us a bit about yourself.

I was born in Manhattan, N.Y., Dec. 7, 1993, and raised in south Florida. I graduated [from] high school in 2012 and am attending college to be a mortician.

I grew up in a happy home, and I’m close with my family. My best friend and wife, Jessica Robbin, got into the industry with me.

How and why did you choose porn?

Jessica came to Florida so we could start a life together, which began with her squatting in my dorm. I was doing some fetish work and attempting to cam and told her to try so we could [make enough] money to get out of the dorm by December.

An agent contacted her and told her to come talk, just to get info, and she asked me to take her to the interview. When we got there, the lady said, “You’re pretty, also. Want to [perform in adult videos]?” I was like, “Sure. Why not?”

What was your first scene like?

My first scene was with Juan Largo on InnocentHigh.com for Team Skeet. I was 18, just about to turn 19.

Another girl from my agency also was there. She was a virgin and was just there to masturbate next to us while I taught her how to fuck. Realistically, though, I was mortified and she was all, “Fuck yeah! Let’s do this.”

Everybody was nice, and it wasn’t as scary as I thought. Juan told me it was his second scene. Afterward, I told the director I thought Juan did a really good job for his second scene, and the director goes, “More like his second-thousandth.”

I’m really happy that was my first scene because it was amazing and fun, and if it hadn’t turned out that way, I definitely wouldn’t be here now. I just wish they hadn’t said I was 5’8″ and from Jersey, because I’ve been having to correct everyone this past year that I’m 5’5″ and from Florida.

How has your career progressed since then?

I’ve noticed that I’ve been moved up from “amateur,” which means I must be pretty recognizable at this point. The scenes have been getting more hardcore and somewhat glamorous when it comes to the pictures.

Like, I’m not some random chick on a casting couch or a girlfriend in some revenge porno. There’s actually a real name out there for me, and I like that.

What has been the high point of your career so far?

My high point, as of now, was definitely being nominated for Best All Girl Group Sex Scene by the 2014 AVN [Award]s. I did that scene two months in, and I only have done one or two other girl-girl scenes, so when I found out [I’d been nominated], I was in complete shock.

What would be your dream shoot?

My dream shoot would definitely be with Kink.com. I’m not quite sure with [what other performer], but I love the thought of being pushed beyond your limits and trying new things you never would have otherwise.

I love when someone can get into my head and just make me believe whatever they want me to [believe]. I’m very submissive, and I like being pushed and made to work for what I want. I think they would be the company to give me that [experience].

What are your long-term plans?

I honestly have no idea. I was told in the beginning I ruined myself because of my tattoos and decided to get more instead of removing them, but it’s been a year already and [my career is] still going strong and even getting better. I really never thought I’d get to this point, so now I’m just going with the flow of it.

Porn isn’t something I have to do or am trying to make this 10 year plan. I do it because I love it. I love sex, I love exploration and all the different people and places I get to do all of this.

When and if the opinion shifts in another direction, then I’ll stop. Until then, there’s nothing to lose.

My hair is naturally extremely curly. Also, I’m left handed.
