WebPower Launches Dot-xxx Domains, Slates iFriends Webcam Marathon
YNOT – WebPower Inc., parent company of the iFriends webcam network and the ClickCash affiliate program, is testing the waters of the new dot-xxx domain with the launch of iFriends.xxx and ClickCash.xxx. Both sites are clones of high-profile, established sites in the dot-com space, and each represents the first in its niche to launch within dot-xxx.
iFriends.net, online since Valentine’s Day 1998, became the first large-scale adult webcam network and has served as a template for others in the sector. The site introduced innovations that have become de rigueur for other sites, including cam-to-cam chats, high-definition video and 3D streaming.
Since its debut in 1996, ClickCash boasts generation of more than $1 billion in revenue for its webmasters and affiliates. The program has delivered more than 600 consecutive, uninterrupted weekly payments to affiliates worldwide.
“We are proud to be part of the [dot-xxx] Founders Program and are enthusiastic about the opportunities that working with [dot-xxx overseer] ICM Registry presents for us and our affiliates,” said WebPower spokesperson Stacy Psaros. “Our company’s culture is one of innovation and forward-thinking business practices. We recognized these same qualities in ICM Registry and the dot-xxx space. iFriends.xxx is just the first of a number of prominent domains that we look forward to launching.”
According to ICM Registry’s Vaughn Liley, “WebPower’s vision of the adult marketplace and their way of detecting and developing new opportunities such as dot-xxx are remarkable. Their participation in the Founders Program is particularly valuable given their long history and prominence in the adult industry. The launch of these sites clearly demonstrates our goal of making dot-xxx a vibrant and content-rich domain.”
On Aug. 15, WebPower General Counsel Andy Kayton was named to one of five adult industry seats on the policy council that will advise the International Foundation for Online Responsibility, the nonprofit organization established to set the rules of engagement for the dot-xxx space.
One of the first big online events to take place in the dot-xxx space will occur on iFriends’ properties Aug. 27. Beginning at midnight ET on that Saturday, some of iFriends’ most popular chat hosts will man their cameras in a 24-hour erotic webcam marathon.
The event is a long-standing tradition at iFriends and was created and organized by the video hosts who frequent the discussion groups in the website’s online community forum. The discussion groups serve as a centralized virtual meeting place where members and performers alike interact about all sorts of topics. Users will be able to participate in the marathon by logging into their accounts via iFriends.net, iFriends.com or iFriends.xxx.
The iFriends community includes users and performers from more than 140 countries, engaging in thousands of paid live webcam interactions daily. ClickCash affiliates earn up to $200 for each new member they refer to an iFriends website.
