RealTouch Content-Development Kit Available
YNOT – Online video-on-demand purveyor AEBN has released a content-development kit for webmasters and end-users who want to add RealTouch interactivity to their videos.
The CDK provides sample code, a sample video, script files and sample executables that demonstrate how to encode video for RealTouch, a for-men-only device that employs proprietary haptic technology to simulate the warmth, moistness and relative motion occurring on the screen. AEBN said release of the CDK is the first step toward a public release of a software developer kit (SDK) that will allow software developers to create applications for RealTouch.
“Developers who have a commercial product they would like to RealTouch-enhance should [email us],” Director of Sales and Marketing Scott Rinaldo said, adding that forum support is available online.
“This is part of the goal of the RealTouch team: to foster the development of a community and a content standard for haptically enhanced content and software,” Rinaldo said. “We believe there is a bright future ahead for the RealTouch product line and that growing a community and making this technology available for other developers is how we’ll arrive there.”
